Today Pajamanation Malaysia (myPJN) joins Pajamanation Global (PJN) (www.pajamanation.com) in opening its glocal network to a new world for both workers and companies. Now you can work from home, in your pajamas (or the traditional Malaysian sarongs) if you want, with projects from all over the world. And you, as a business manager, can get the job done faster, cheaper and without tiring physical meetings.
Pajamanation is the first global, auction-based electronic market place of microjobs (small jobs outsourced to homeworkers) for homeworkers.
Its mission is to become the largest network for home-based micropreneurs across 53 countries in 150 professional categories. Pajamanation is on its way to become the global portal and gateway for this new community and wants to fulfill its mission of making the world work ‘glocally’ (Global+Local).
Pajamanation Malaysia (along with Pajamanation establishments in 46 other countries) launches today with support both in English and Malay languages. Support in Mandarin and Tamil are soon to follow.
Theory behind the model
If employment rises in a country with few opportunities for re-employment and if that country has a decent IP infrastructure, people will start one-person businesses from their homes. Thus, some become entrepreneurs out of necessity while others make a conscious decision to increase the freedom and quality of their lives by setting up a home business. It is also to be envisaged that they will network together to do more complex jobs and eventually become a viable alternative for the brick-and-mortar corporations, which, traditionally undertake more complex jobs.
There is a growing understanding in the business world for the necessity of cutting costs. Managers see Pajamanation as a micro-procurement solution to solve bottlenecks in their companies, such as the realization of jobs or projects that are too small to hire someone or not being done because they fall between two job descriptions. It will enhance the efficiency and the competitiveness of those companies.
Why Pajamanation?
There is enough work in this world, and yet many are without jobs. It is a question of semantics for some, of social dynamism for others. Pajamanation is the exchange platform for the local and global needs of homeworkers and companies. There are about 40 millions homeworkers in the USA alone and approximately the same amount in Europe. There are no figures for the global population. Though, in smaller developing countries like Malaysia, the number of IT-enabled homeworkers are quickly reaching by the low millions.
We are living in a knowledge economy in which we are told that we need to look to add value to labor. We are told that our competence and skills are a life long process of learning and that will make our price in the market. But what does it all mean when you lose your job? Pajamanation believes that in a knowledge economy, competencies become commodities. They can be sold and traded. Pajamanation is the perfect solution for competence workers that want to work from home, either as a part-time occupation or as a fulltime job. Pajamanation is a global initiative and represents 46 countries world-wide.
How does it work?
The easiest way to explain how it works is by giving an example:
A company wants a new logo made within 5 days. They announce the job in the PJN market place on a Monday morning asking for offerings before Wednesday 13.00 hrs. Late Wednesday, they read through the offerings, decide on who will get the job and the logo is finished by Friday. The money is in the micropreneurs account on the same day.
As a user of PJN you can chose whether you want to advertise for jobs or seek jobs local, or both. You can do it locally (one country) as well as globally. To get access to one country you pay RM99 (approximately 25€), and if you want the whole world as your marketplace you only pay RM399 (approximately 99 Euros).
Pajamanation.com is FREE for a period up to three months from today, so both micropreneurs and job-providers can test the service.
